We purchased a new computer today which is running Windows Vista Home Permium and when we turn it on to load it its coming up with an error saying

"EgisUpdate"

Program Operation error. Please restart the computer and try again.

I rung Acer and the guy said to factory restore it which I did.

Do you have any of these programs installed?

Uninstall them if you can.

Completely agree with rscole86... if its new, take it back. It should work straight out of the box. Is it possible the PC was a display model?

It's fixed now and it was not a display model in came boxed and sealed
