I am trying to add "print on both sides" to the drop down on the print preview window in word 2010.

As far as I am aware it is automatically added to the list if the chosen printer supports it. The option shows up on my install of word 2010 (im trying to add this for a client) but it does not show up in said clients list.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks,
Troy

Does the print driver itself show support for duplex printing?

Where abouts do i go to check this?

If I tell it to print double sided through the printer options it will. Its just a client being picky about it appearing in a particular menu.

Then the answer would appear to be yes.

If you click the File tab, then click Options and then Advanced is there anything under Print that could give you what you're after? I don't have a client running 2010 that also has a duplex printer so can't try this myself.

I have looked there and havn't found an option to turn it on.

I think its supossed to be picked up automatically ie. not a setting in word but rather something not quite right with the printer driver.

How can i get into the printer driver to change stuff like this. Is it just the properties of the printer or is it done somewhere seperately?

Chances are you can't. If the printer is happy to print duplex via the Printer Properties within Word then the drivers are fine. It is possible your clients printer just doesn't have drivers tweaked for Office 2010. Have you tried updating the printer drivers?
