I've run the scan twice already, and each time it hangs at this file. The time keeps flicking over but the % remains the same, as does everything else. It takes about a minute to get to this point and my laptops fan has been going mental so I want to find out if I have a virus or not.

Does anyone know what this file is?
How can I get it to go faster?

When I have had this happen, it was because the HDD was unable to read the file and was retrying and retrying, look in your event viewer to see if there is anything listed about the time that it was trying to scan that file.

looks like a reg key to me, does it change from \...\time?

At a wild guess (I need more info) I would say the scanner is running through the registry.

Have you tried another scanner (trendmicrohousecall) or something?

It finally finished. Spent over an hour on that one file. The scan must have frozen as it pretty much completed the scan right after that file was "done". So I installed Kaspesky instead because I know that works.
