Used settings from WinXP in Outlook for windows Mail but keep getting server error.

Installed Thunderbird and used same settings with no problem.  It's an Acer laptop.  Sorry it's my sister's laptop and I didn't get any more info than that.

Thanks for any help.

Is this windows live mail 2011?

If so, and you are using one of these methods it could be a glitch which i have not found a way around.

*right click a file then send to mai recipent

*scan to email

*click on an external link that opens windows live mail 2011.

the only way around that i have found is completly remove windows 2011 esentials and install windows live 2010 esentials.

unless sombody else knows a solution i would be intreasted in this.

Oh yes once you have put 2010 esentials on dont forget to remove any messages from out box.

im just guessthats your problem.

you can also test this by removing all mail out of the outbox then creating mail from within windows live essentials if it works then more than liktly one of the above conditions is true.

thanks

Hu? did i do that?
