somebody please help!

Hi i had xp on my laptop and want to dualboot 98 on a partitioned fat32 drive. So i partitioned a drive and made a boot cd for 98; (because my laptop doesnt have a floppy drive). So i put mi bootdisc in and it booted up a 98 setup utility wich asks " start with or with out" (ive tried both) i removed the bootdisc and put in the setup disc and typed in d:\setup nothing happens so i copied the 98 setup disc onto the hard drive and typed in c:\win98\setup, the hard drive light fliks on but then says invalid command. Pleas help me!!!!!!

and im puttin 98 on because i need it!

what do you need 98 for? We may be able to provide a solution for XP...

Would I be correct in rewording that too:

I had Windows XP on my laptop and want to dual boot on a partitioned FAT32 drive. I partitioned the drive and made a boot CD for Windows 98. I attempted to boot from this CD and it came up with 2 options. "start with" and "start without" (I'm assuming thats CD support ... from memory) I tried both. I then removed the CD and inserted the setup disk and entered D:\setup and nothing happened. So I copied the Windows 98 CD onto the HD and typed C:\win98\setup, it attempts but fails to install.

If so:
After correctly partitioning the hard drive (in 2 I also presume), Boot of your BOOT CD and select "start computer WITH CD-ROM support". When this process has finished note the letter it has assigned to the CD DRIVE (not always D:\ but I will use D: in this example) Change CD to your WINDOWS 98 CD and type D:\setup.exe (or the path of the main setup file). Setup should begin.
Windows XP can be difficult to install first as Windows 98 demands the "true" C:\ path.

Oh and mental note: forums should be easy to read, they aren't an instant messaging program.
