i wish to clean all file off my computer, re install all OS and programs, Start from scatch.

I have forgotten how to get my computer to run in DOS mode so I can format me PC in NTFS format.

I have Windows 2000, upgrade from Win 98.

How do I reboot n DOS mode and run C:\Format c:

Whats the procedure, please advise ?

Put your original Win2000 CD into the drive. Reboot computer. Check the BIOS to make sure your CD drive is set to boot on start up

I did this, but it does not seam to give me the option to format the C: drive

What have I missed ?

I have Win 2000 upgrade disk, an it runs off and finds a previous version of Windows, so some how I have to get rid of the previous version on the c: drive ( I have win 98 Cd still so i am covered ).

thx I found it, boot from CD to win 2000 disks was the trick
