Hi

question for people in the know.

I have three machines here at home, a main one (call it xp) my laptop and the wifes (sad I know!!)

Does anyone know of any exchange like email servers to host our isp based email in one place.

We both use Outlook 2003 for mail clients, and I'd like the exchange functionality of having a mailbox follow you around if you open it on different machines, rather than copying it around and synchronising it (like you end up doing with outlook pst files).

Anyone know of anything or have any better suggestions?

The wifes laptop is the important one, I'd like to make it as simple as possible for her to take  her email with her to work, and not loose anything.  So not synchronising and very small sync's (like < 1 minute for email and a couple of documents).

The xp machine backs it self up. So I'd like that one to be the master.

I know there are a few Exchange-like Open Source servers around, you have to Google for it, but others' opinions are welcome.

On the other hand, you can get this functionality from any IMAP server. Also in this league, why not think of a ChiliBox Server? I saw this working and they are pretty cool servers for home and small office.

.PST files on a network drive is not recommended. Microsoft warn against it and there are lots of issues that can result from doing this.
