I've been a user of the Microsoft Money application for a very long time - my main file is 40mb in size, representing 15 years of money flows. It's a complex database with much information.

Microsoft stopped updating the UK version some years ago, only offering US updates (that should have been an alarm bell I guess), and finally shutdown the online feed to Money earlier this year.

No worries I thought, Quicken is a powerful competitor, I'll move when I have time to.

I finally managed to get the trial software today.

There is no conversion tool for any microsoft money files earlier than 2008.

No worries he says, I'll get the sunset version of Microsoft Money Plus, convert my 2003 file to 2008... and away we go.

The converter program in 2008 crashes.
