I'm installing this as i'm posting this... though the installation is waiting for me to close IE7-Vista to proceed.

Anyhow, the link to the final version is here. http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/e/0/3e0467fc-a26f-4001-b352-cd1a274f957b/EN/Install_Messenger.exe

Update: This version does not have Yahoo! Messenger Integration yet, this long-waited feature will be available in coming updates.

I don't think 'Yahoo! Messenger integration is in this one...

p/s: I just had my first WLM8.0.0787 crash! LOL I was adding a new contact whom is already in my address book but has not been "given" messenger contact.

Weird huh?

Not having much luck. Does the Yahoo messenger have to be a specific version also?

Notes
  • If you are adding a Yahoo! Messenger instant message address, enter the full e-mail address.
  • You may see two entries for the same contact. This can occur when you add a Messenger contact that uses both Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger. To determine if a contact is using Yahoo! Messenger:
    • Open a conversation window in Messenger. If there is a Yahoo! Messenger icon under the contact's display picture, they are using Yahoo! Messenger.
    • Hover your mouse over the contact's name in the main Messenger window. If their e-mail address is followed by Yahoo!, they are using Yahoo! Messenger.

I don't think the Yahoo Integration is activated in the final, as I remember reading from Mess.be that it is unlikely to include Yahoo Integration to the final, and the WLM-YI is still in beta.

I have added the full email address of my email-enabled Yid, and still not show up in WLM. instead it said xyz@yahoo.co.nz is not in your contact list. Click here to add him or her now which doesn't bring any fruit.

and there is not Y! icon either... hence why i said, YI is not yet enabled in 8.0.0787

Perhaps try adding your WLM login to your Yahoo messenger?
