Hi,

I have all my media on my media pc, running windows 7, including all my music.  I also have a XP machine that is acting as a print server.

One of the kids likes putting on music while he does his homework etc, but the media PC isn't always on especially during the week,  so I was thinking of just storing the music on the XP machine then he could just select music from there.

But I happy with the music being stored on Media PC and our Itunes account is linked to that machine etc, so is there a way of automatically syncing the win7 machine with the XP machine, so when I turn the media pc on on a saturday morning any new music is copyed across to the XP as well.

You could use SyncToy. On your kids' PC create a sync pair (make it Echo from your PC to the kids' PC so that if they delete anything it won't be deleted from yours) and schedule it to run as a command line on login.
