Hi,

Last week I noticed that I can't see any video anymore via Windows Media Player 10.  Attempted to uninstall/ reinstall - Nada!  I've also upgraded it to WM 11 Beta - still the same.  I can hear the audio content of the file I'm playing just can't see the video image.

I recently upgraded MSN messenger to windows live messenger 8.0...

Any ideas??

Stevo

Cheers, Stevo

mplayer and vlc should fix it
you could muck around with codecs and fix windows media player but you can't polish a turd

Thanks for the response Barf, do I need both of these applications or one or the other?  I do have a codec pack installed (allinone), who knows what went wrong.

Thanks again,

Stevo

mplayer and vlc are media players, use one, or both of these programmes to play your movies instead of windows media player
that codec pack could have installed an old codec and might be why windows media player stopped working

And the winner is....

Good old Microsft Updates!  I installed and attempted to use one of the media players, but this didn't work either.  Had some thoughts and remember that my auto updates for Windows kicked in twice last week.  Since then I couldn't see video anymore - but it IS WORKING on the laptop screen, NOT WORKING when I dock at work with my LCD monitor!!!

Located & reinstalled the monitors drivers, restart - video is back baby!

Cheers & beers, Stevo
