Any hints or tips to do this? How would you get rid of all your data and set it up for someone else to use? I have the vista 32 bit install somewhere and a windows 7 upgrade disc for it. I don't store banking passwords in text files or anything, but still don't like the idea of someone trawling through my files they have used a recovery program to get.

I use DBAN eraser (http://www.dban.org/) to erase the hard drive (I usually do just one pass, otherwise it can take days on larger discs) and reinstall windows

+1 for DBAN. Slow but thorough - there is no fast way to securely erase a hard drive (unless you shred it!).
