Hi

I am having problems adding my windows vista clients to my windows server 2008 domain.

I will start for the beginning in case i have missed a step along the way.

1)Started with a fresh server 2008 install

2)Installed active directory, created some users/admins

3)At this stage everything seemed fine but my server lost internet connection as i expected

4)installed DNS server and added a forward lookup zone and the internets was restored :)

5)Loaded up and activated a fresh vista install, went to add it to the windows server domain but i get an error.

Have tried googling around for a while but nothing seems to fix it. It seems most people who get this error already have some clients added but can't add new ones.

I currently have no clients added.

I have included some screens hots if they help.

Is your server running dhcp server? If so have you turned off dhcp on your router.

If you want to run dhcp from your router then you'll need to add your server address as the DNS server.

I am running dhcp on the server, possibly i haven't switched it off on the router as i don't recall doing it.

Will try that.

Cheers
