In windoze the instructions to setup the firmware/restore image require a raw copy and recommending the use of the win platform tool "HDD Raw Copy". There doesn't appear to be an equivalent GUI app for nix platforms and searches at all the usual linux help sites are only giving me raw copy methods using the "dd" command which I confess to being somewhat phobic about.
I successfully raw copied the IMG to a larger SDcard I have here as a temporary measure to unbrick my AndroidTV device, but I need that for another purpose and am revisiting the possibility of successful raw copy to the 4GB SDcard after reading somewhere that it is actually possible to compress the IMG to make it fit.
I should clarify that, once raw copied to an SDcard, the actual contents of the IMG are only about 100Mb so what I am needing help with is to find a linux-based method to get these raw copied without effecting the bootability of the SDcard on my AndroidTV device.
Sorry if my explanation is a bit vague due to not knowing the correct technical terms to communicate what I am trying to achieve.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions that do not say "buy a bigger SDcard"
