I'm wanting to make Windows XP my primary OS. Linux Mint & the GRUB boot loader were annoying me since I didn't use Linux enough. I also didn't know what boards to put this on amd it seemed more Linux than Windows related.

Now my computer teacher told me to go into DOS & type in fdisk/mbr.

He also told me that to do that I'd have to access DOS to type that in, now I tried this in command prompt, didn't like it. He mentioned something about using a Windows 98 CD to access DOS. Is there anyway to remove the grub loader on computer boot?

I tried the Microsoft page, but thats kinda hazy.

Umm... why don't you just set a ~2sec delay prompt and make Windows XP as the default boot? That way, you keep open source on your computer, and you still can boot into Windows XP with a ~2sec delay (which isn't much...)

Otherwise, use Recovery Console (from XP disc), log in, run:

fixboot
fixmbr

This completely clears GRUB off...

Or you could probably just use the super grub disk.
