I am not particularly well versed in Linux.

I have DietPi running on an oDroid C2 and have installed Home Assistant in a Python 3 virtual environment.

I have an Aeotec Z-Stick USB dongle that Home Assistant needs to see. It is plugged into the oDroid, but it doesn't show up in Home Assistant.

Being a Linux novice, is their something I need to do to make the oDroid's USB ports (and any devices attached) accessible to an application running in a Phython 3 virtual environment?

Thanks

What do the home assistant instructions say? They should have this pretty well covered.

Another idea might be to run the docker container, that you can expose usb to (I used to do it for openhab with an aeotec usb stock). Both on bare metal and docker on an odroid c2.

They have a pre-built image for the oDroid C2, which will presumably be bare metal. But I want to use the oDroid as an OpenVPN server as well, and I don't know if that's possible using their image.

EDIT: I'll give their bare metal image a try just to make sure it works.

Surely the image is just a distro you can add openvpn to.  Unless it hides everything
