After using ChromeOS Flex on a Lenovo laptop for sometime and comparing it to Fedora, Mint, Ubuntu, KDE Neon, Kubuntu I feel that ChromeOS is the best Linux option for averge users and probably the best OS option for average users and more. I am using chromeOS Flex on my Lenovo (i5 cpu, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD) as I found that 99% of the Chrome Books on offer in Aotearoa are just awful. The only feature on the Lenovo not working is the fingerprint sensor.

Any thoughts folks

I am using Flex on a 12 year old Asus netbook. It has rejuvenated the machine, boots up fast and is easy to use.

It does not run android games, and I have not been able to run linux versions on it. Apparently some machine brands do and some don't.

I find that it is a great little machine to use when in a hurry.

I forgot to add I feel that a lot of folk believe that ChromeOS and Chromebooks can only be used online, for kids at school, not powerful, like the Netbooks of old and one cannot do much on them. On my Lenovo ChromeOS is very fast and responsive, I can work offline and when combined with Linux there is a lot that can be done. Google's own productivity suit has matured well and there is the Microsoft online options.

For those with a Chromebook as opposed to ChromeOS Flex some Android Apps add a lot to the experience.
