This forum is a bit too quiet!
I found a cool wireless access point that runs the Linux 2.4 kernel the other day that I highly reccomend.
It's the Cameo WLG-2003 which cost me a modest $75 incl GST. First thing I did was pull it to bits. It has a conexant ISL3893 SoC and 8MB flash memory. Serial port is solder filled holes on the mainboard so could be a good candidate for hacking with :-)
It has two aerials with reverse SMA connectors, one 100mbit ethernet port and is powered by 12v DC. Operates as an ethernet bridge (not a NAT device) Features are impressive, but it lacked remote syslog logging (despite running syslog itself). Other than that it's capable of basically everything anyone could want from an access point including WDS and RADIUS support for WPA enterprise. Cool product and very good value for money.
