Howdy Folks
I've just today installed Ubuntu Studio 11.04 after using plain Ubuntu 10.04 for about 8mths as my first foray into Linux.
No dual boots as I'm completely over windows but must say I enjoyed 98 from 2000 till Linux...(10 years and 3 desktops)

Anyways I've got an old 40Gb laptop harddrive that was given to me while still inside a broken 'puter and just bought a IDE to sata adapter
as I have a spare sata connector free on my motherboard and I want to use the 40Gb as a backup/slave/spare.

What I'm hoping... as Linux tends to be so convenient to things like this, is that I can just plug the hard drive into the sata socket and fire up
the 'puter and Ubuntu will recognise it as a secondary HD that I can wipe, but first havin' a look at the windows based contents, and format
without having a big old book of instructions in front of me.

Given this is the case, or not, what advice could help me to achieve this. I suppose the first step is knowing how to set the jumpers on the
 2.5?

Cheers, Sean.
