Hi

I've got a retina macbook pro 15.4". Wanting to do a fresh install or at least save a copy of the install for future use.

I've tried downloading mountain lion from recovery (command + R) 3 times now and all 3 times it stops at 75% and fails. In the installer log it says something like "chunk validation failed" it tries it several times and then it says "token timeout" after the 7th or so attempt of reconnecting.

This is really frustrating now as I have wasted over 10gb of my cap trying to download this stupid file, why can't apple just provide every new computer with install disk.

Anyone else experience this before? I'm on telecom broadband.
I've tried search the apple forums and theres not really any solution to this. I've tried looking up the apple expresslane but theres NO phone numbers or emails to contact, it just says contact your local store.

Any help is much appreciated!

Hmm

The only suggestion apple had was to reset the PRAM and SMC and I had already done that prior to my second attempt

and they also suggest i format my hard disk, i'm not going to try that because if it doesn't work, im stuck with a bricked system

i did some searching around and some people had  similar problem caused my content filtering by the isp.

i'm with telecom, can people who have had a successful reinstall of mountain lion with recovery, post what isp they are with?

I have successfully downloaded mountain lion with Telecom , although this was on macbook pro via ethernet.
I tend not to use wifi for large downloads, try see if you can get a recovery DMG and make a usb install drive.
