Installed this morning on a M1 MacBook Air and M2 Mac mini. Runs well, it’s a nice iterative update.

2020 MacBook Air M1 (Space Grey) | 2023 Mac mini M2 | 2021 iPad Pro 11" M1 (Space Grey) | 2021 iPad mini (Space Grey) | iPhone 15 Pro Max (Natural Titanium) | HomePod (Space Grey) | 10x HomePod mini (Space Grey, White, Yellow, Blue, Orange) | 4x Apple TV 4K | Apple Watch Ultra 2

Observations so far:

  • Messages now has a bug where the messages go off the edge of the window. Switching between people will temporarily fix it. Reported to Apple.
  • World of Warcraft drops frames unless you turn on Foreground FPS Cap and set it to the speed of your display (usually 60).
  • Some regional settings changed of their own accord. Reported to Apple.
  • There is now a pop-up icon that's supposed to appear when you toggle caps lock or keyboard layouts, but it also pops up at random when in the middle of playing games. Reported to Apple.
  • Music no longer loses its filter when you open the lyric panel.
  • Select All now behaves correctly in Maps.
  • Most other bugs remain.

Seems fine for me so far but it'll take a while to find issues I guess.

I installed it on my iMac and MacBook Air. Haven't had a chance to look closely too busy with mokopuna staying with us.

First impressions, ok lots more wallpapers.....

Have upgraded now.

  • My iTerm2 app constantly crashed; resolved by updating to the latest beta version
  • Somewhat disconcertingly, TimeMachine reported that my encrypted drive was now being backed up to an unencrypted drive.  Considering I'd never enabled FileVault encryption that was a little alarming; but it seems the M1 chip-based laptops have always had some level of encryption on the SSD anyway...
  • Not a fan of the new lockscreen layout; have to retrain my eyes to check the username (multiple family users share this laptop)

Seems fine on my M1 MBP, I skipped Ventura so nice to see a small facelift 😊.

I tried it out in a VM, and unfortunately the new screen sharing menu bar item causes some issues with Bartender. Well, one big one in that there's no way to disable it for Bartender, so if you use Bartender Bar, you'll often get an annoying purple menu bar item to alert you that Bartender's taking screenshots of your menu bar items. And Show For Updates is unfortunately gone in the new version of Bartender, as that would cause the purple menu bar item to be shown continuously.
