lyonrouge: Really? I've found them to be pretty much the same. Is there something in the Mac version I have missed?

I find start up is faster, trackpad gestures makes finding content easier

Hi - I updated iTunes on our iMac about a week ago... seems more responsive, but has taken a while to get over not having coverflow and finding out how to make a genius playlist... overall I was liking it. When I decided to upgrade my MacBookPro and carry on syncing duties with my iPhone I found it to be a fairly big improvement in the way it handles app updates - I have hundreds of apps and like to selectively apply updates to my app list - this was previously a painful operation to do... browsing my apps, applying an update, carry on browsing, have the list jump back to the start when the update finished... very awkward. Seems a lot smoother now.
Plus the iPhone syncing process seems a lot faster... but for me it'll be a combination of iTunes 11 and a nice new iPhone 5 with a lightning connector...

I'm not sure I would consider that a "universe" of difference. I've got iTunes on Win 7, Snow Leopard and Mountain Lion and all pretty much the same to me.

Does anyone know where the radio function has moved to? It wasn't there, but then appeared and disappeared again, perhaps a new "feature"?

No - I've never felt the need to use wifi sync - I just use the USB cable.

Re. radio on the iPhone. On my iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0.1 I don't have radio as an option... I don't recall ever seeing it... I've found the app TuneIn Radio to be very good.

I should have been move clear, that is the iTunes Remote application, i.e. iPhone interface for the iTunes library.

I sync an iPhone, an iPod Nano & an iPad at different times but just prefer the more transparent and robust process of using a cable.

Re. seeing 'radio' as an option with the Remote app - yes, I do see it as an option on my iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.1... thanks for clarifying where you where referring to - this and the Genius Mixes could be useful.

Moved iTunes connection from Router WiFi AP to Apple AP (AirPort Express 5GHz) and connections appear to have stabilized, will continue to monitor. iTunes 11 appears to be less tolerant of non-apple networks than its predecessor.

I dislike the device listing being removed, I now have to select the devices button to display them all, and then when I select another window, the list closes.

I agree. One advantage of Mac has always been its intuitive interface for non-techies such as myself. The latest version of iTunes (running on 10.8.2) is a puzzle and much less intuitive than the previous version (which wasn't great anyway). Safari has also had inexplicable changes that nobody in my family likes - now switched to Firefox as a better alternative. I believe that Apple has lost its way.
