SOOOOOO what are our collective thoughts on iTunes 11?

Me? Well I think it's pretty darn ugly.  Some design elements are just a complete dogs breakfast.  Granted I do like the new iTunes Store design, and I am really enjoying the Artists view of my music, with the scrolling list of Artist names on the left, and the Albums and Songs on the right....

In fact, in writing this I'm flicking back and forth to iTunes and noticing a hell of a lot of NICER things on my MacBook Air than I noticed on my Windows laptop yesterday....So once again it seems they've uglied up the Windows version in comparison to the Mac....I think that's really childish and petty.

Anyway, how are you getting on with it?  Any nice features or things you absolutely hate?

Having used it briefly I quite like the general design, but as usual there have been sloppy bugs introduced with it.

There is now a widely reported fault whereby iTunes is no longer preventing the machine from going to sleep when another device is accessing its shared library. This is causing the other device to sudden drop the connection to the shared library.

I *HATE* iTunes though I do use it with my ipod to buy music. However I don't see anything bad about the new layout, I hate it a LOT less than I did before. It won't be replacing Foobar as my music player of choice, but I think it's a huge improvement.

I switched from iTunes long ago when I sold my ipod classic and have been using foobar, I don't think I would be going back anytime soon

Yet to sync anything but seems easier to use for basic tasks. Far more responsive - on osx anyway.

Store browsing seems much faster and less laggy. Playing previously purchased items yet to be downloaded is seamless. Nice.

After running a store search and selecting 'podcast episodes' - There is no way to display attributes like date and time for those episodes. It's been a while, maybe it never could or got dumped versions ago.

Then, after selecting an episode on that screen, all of the episodes for that podcast are shown and then you have to manually navigate to the desired episode. Not good. I chose it - so it should be selected automatically. Navigation from search and other search and sort features in the store seem incomplete.

Its an OK update but doesn't really add any significant functionality or improve ease of use.

It is probably a slight improvement.

I don't really know why they bothered.

Itunes is still the best complete media manager out there. When apple offers subscriptions , bye bye spotify.

WiFi sync has lost stability with the update. Devices (sometime iPhones, other times iPads) now report random issues and the suggestion by the software is to restore from back-up. (Yes, all devices are up to date, with iTunes on Mountain Lion).

My original dislike of Apple products was always around iTunes, in those days, it gained delight from bricking iPhones and that dismayed me, but it has improved a great deal since then (and credit to Apple for replacing the bricked phones promptly).

I'm always hoping for Apple to release an iTunes server, a simple device with big disks and a basic iOS maintenance tool, like AirPort Express. It would have connections like a blended Apple TV & AirPort Express, i.e. Two Ethernet jacks and WiFi. Output would be both analogue and HDMI out, selectable as AirPlay outputs, i.e. independent with the ability to be concurrent.

I didn't like the new layout but its growing on me and becoming easier. Certainly runs faster and takes less resources.

Liking the multiple output airplay feature....

Really? I've found them to be pretty much the same. Is there something in the Mac version I have missed?
