There's nothing on Apple's NZ site as of yet, but there are new iMacs (and some other hardware) on the US site. Still no Blu-ray support though :(

seriously ATI HD4850 512MB for the top end imac... with no option to customize it? almost 2 yrs old graphic card

core i7 - 2.8ghz = lynnfield? core i7 800 series? hence does not support triple channel....

i think the only remarkable feature with the new imac is the 27inch screen. otherwise, pretty average spec.

Although the NZ dollar rising from the peso state it was in when prices were last set has seen some serious prices crashes,

I mean yesterday a 24in 3.06ghz with 4GB would set you back $4799, today a 27inch 3.06 with 4GB is $2899, thats a saving of $1900 !!!!!

The low end Mac mini has had $350 or over 20% shaved off it

Interesting observation since I was just looking at the Mini Server ($1749) and fuming when they're ~NZ$1350 in the US.

I run Windows 7 on an old Mac Mini as my Media Center in the lounge. Perfect with no noise and very small size. The new specs seem just right for this kind of use...

The US prices are as always ex all taxes, which in a number of states are an additional 10%, making the direct translation around $1500 NZD

Apple always screw the international market, but we are about the same level of screwed as our brothers across the ditch, Mini server - AUD 1399 , which is pretty much bang on the 80c conversion to the NZD 1749.
in the UK it is GBP 799 (NZD 1777 at .45) and in Euroland it is EUR 949  (NZD 1900@ .50)

Personally* IPS and receiving video in by display-port is worth it alone... oh and the design total "sex".

Whenever someone complains about NZ prices I always point that out... and then I forgot all about it today. Go me! :P

I just ordered the 27" iMac. I am seriously busting my gut - checking the order status every 5 minutes waiting for it to ship.

I think apple have hit the spot with this one.

I'm nor sure I'll get the 27" one.

It just feels a little too big to me. Like I'ld have to lean back at my desk just to see everything Undecided

Yea, I hear where your coming from. The two main reasons I went for the 27" was that it can be used as a monitor aswell so the xbox and what-not will work with it and second is because apple now ships the iMacs with wireless keyboard and the new magic mouse so ill be able to sit a few meters away on the couch and still be able to see the screen fine while having the keyboard on my lap :].

Can't wait!!
