Yes, $65 (on top of the $40 for the base OS).

dacraka: What if I want to do a clean install? How do I do this?

You have to make a boot key/disc.

Read this, Carefully. Its easy enough.

http://www.cultofmac.com/how-to-make-a-bootable-install-disk-of-mac-os-x-lion/105527#more-105527

The installer self destructs unless you make a copy of it before you hit install, in case you have a few macs like i do and you dont want to keep downloading it ( providing the use the same apple ID), or this boot option works too.( doesnt matter about apple id)

simple logic.

Will installing Lion on my Imac erase my current documents? I dont have a hard drive big enough to move all of my docs across, so dont want to upgrade at the moment if it means I may lose everything...

Well i upgraded my without losing any my documents or data. It just ran the update and when it finished and booted up again everything was as I left it. I would how ever strongly recommend backing up vital documents (or stuff that you just can't afford to lose) before trying this,  because you can never be absolutely sure that its going to be smooth sailing.

I updated today, took a Superduper! clone this morning, and kicked off the download/install during lunch. I was back up and running about an hour later. All's well, it's much faster - and that's even noticeable on a Sata3 SSD :) Cleaner UI for the most part, not a fan of Mission Control though.

I'm surprised based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Lion#System_requirements

Do you only have a 32bit capable processor?

Yup, Intel Core Duo is only 32-bit :(

I saw a blog post earlier today about a "bug" in Lion that affects file services - apparently it can no longer communicate with a large range of NAS devices. Has anyone encountered this? I rely on a WD My Book World Edition quite heavily - this "bug" is a deal killer for me if it exists for this device.

Haven't encountered the NAS problem, I can communicate with ours just fine.

I'm not sure why Apple changed some of the gesture commands with Lion, they don't seem to have a purpose for the change. With a few minor tweaks I've been able to get the gestures back to normal, and still have the new gestures available as well. BetterTouchTool to the rescue once again!

If you use Adobe Creative Suite products, don't upgrade. Lion and CS don't like each other.

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...
