FlexT: I just ordered the 27" iMac. I am seriously busting my gut - checking the order status every 5 minutes waiting for it to ship.

I think apple have hit the spot with this one.

Will this be your first iMac or are you upgrading from an older model?

I will be upgrading from a 20" iMac G5 so im sure I will notice the difference!! :D

I grew up with apple - have always hated anything thats pc.

Im now 15 but i can still remember the first mac my family owned.

Now days, mums on a intel 20" imac, dads using the 17" macbook pro so I just couldn't wait any longer.

Luckily we got some inside information about the monthly release date of the new line so we didn't go out and buy a 24", I was sooooooo close to getting one the night before the new line was released.

You're 15 and splashing out mega $$$$ on an 27" iMac ? Paying for it yourself or are the parents buying (and if they are can they adopt me ? :-)

Haha. I can understand your pain.

I've suffered for the past year or two with videos on youtube that seem like stop-motion and flash games that freeze more often than not.

I have had to make a sacrifice to help pay for the 27" though - I had to sell my beloved dirt bike so im feeling the pain as-well as dad's wallet.

I can't wait for it to arrive!! arrrrrggggg!

Ah, I see that the "multi-colour like the new iPod nano" rumor was false like many are :P

Stink that the new "Magic Mouse" scrolly/gestures doesn't work with Boot Camp though.

I understand why apple didn't go with the multi-color option, I think it would just be to frustrating for apple to make say 8 different colors of something so expensive and chances are that not everyone is going to like all of the colors so stock could be wasted in some ways.

I have seen iMac 'cases' that just fit over the shell so that could work in some respects.

I ordered my iMac today, can't wait as this will be my first Mac. So glad that i didn't buy one the other week.
Have also noticed today that all the old ones have dropped their prices by up to $1400 but i think the new iMacs are still the best for value.

Anyone already have the 27" i7 iMac?
There is so much discussion over at macrumors about issues; screen flickering, slow down etc etc..
Curious to see if anyone in NZ has any issues with theirs before I take the plunge.

As far as i know its impossible for anyone to have a quad-core iMacs yet as apple stated that they will start shipping them in november and i cant imagine that they would ship straight away anyway.

I love my 27" tho!

Woops sorry, my mistake. Just meant the C2D 27".
Obviously will have to wait for the i7, but sounds like issues that could affect all the new iMacs.

Well glad to her you're happy with yours.
