Samsung SE-506AB Bluray writer.  Does anyone have any experience with the Samsung Bluray writer and Mac OS.  i want to be able to wirter AVCHD files from a Sony video camera and create a disk that can be read by a
standard Bluray player via HDMI to my TV.  If you purchase a solid state HD video camera the solution offered by most retailers is the back up the video to hard drive.  This is obviously not a relaible way to archive important footage.

I don't think the issue is with the writer but rather the software you are using to capture your AVCHD - e.g. Toast Titanium 11 - I would postulate that having your important footage on blu-ray does not make it any more reliable over hard drive/tape.
