Just wondering if its possible with a macbook air with mountain lion to have some automatic settings?

When I plug in the thunderbolt to hdmi cable I need to manually select mirroring (I want it to do this automatically) and automatically have sound output through hdmi.

The reason for this is my wife will use it for xbmc which I have set to automatically open and I dont want her to muck around with settings.
