So my new iMac shipped today.

Delivery is scheduled for the 26th!

8 days, Apple? Seriously? What do you use, Pony Express?!

Today is Tuesday. I'd say Friday delivery from Australia was plenty of time.

Maybe it isn't coming from Oz directly. Also you often get apple stuff far quicker than the projected date. That is usually the latest.

Yes in my experience over the years items have always arrived a lot sooner than their estimated delivery dates.

Well, yes, but only just and I did not notice the time! The shipping notification was issued in Tuesday.

We can but hope. It is a shame that they do not offer expedited shipping as an option.

The Macbooks I have bought from Apple has usually come from China, I would think your iMac will be coming from there as well..

Yes it arrived in Auckland from China on Friday.

However, due to the uniquely slack and lazy approach of NZ courier firms, it sat still between Friday and Monday going nowhere so won't be here until later this week.

Yeah, I have seen the same myself. The journey from China to Oslos main airport was faster than the delivery from the airport to my flat (the flat was about 1/2 an hour from the airport).

TNT from China to NZ then NZ Couriers from Auckland to Martinborough via who knows where.

If I had not changed the delivery address to the NZ Courier agent in Martinborough (the BP station) then it would have been handed to the Rural Delivery driver to bring over to our house (about 2km from the village square!) and he is allowed another 3 days to do that in!

IMV it should have been in Wellington by Saturday night and in Martinborough by noon today at the latest.

Yep we use NZC (and have also used Courier Post and TNT) and never have an issue, maybe its a Martinborough thing.

But did you pay for weekend delivery, as normal couriers work mon - friday, not weekends. It would be apple you should complain to, if you expected them to deliver during the weekend, as they pay and arrange the courier. Sounds like the delivery time is good, considering you purchased from overseas.
