Hi. Using Mavericks, and trying to share particular folders (in particular movies and music) Was all fine until i decided to let iTunes organise my folders. I can share all others (TVShows, Ringtones, Audiobooks etc) which are all under the iTunes Media folder on the same external media, but when I try share the Movies or Music folder, nothing happens. No error, just doesn't add them to the list of shared folders. All other shares (using the same method to add), work fine, just nothing with these two particular folders. Movies (2.4TB) and Music (400GB). Any advice or guidance? Thanks in advance

No idea. Maybe check the ownership is still the same as other folders.

I tried just right-clicking on the folders, viewing the info and ticking the "Shared Folder" box and it shared the folders ok, haven't tried from the System Prefs.

Hi, thanks for the responses. Ownership is the same, and I've tried sharing them from 'view info' as well. Let's me tick the box, but doesn't actually share the folder. Bizarre.

As previously, and suggestion or advice welcomed.

Maybe check those folders for differences with others, in terminal using "ls -le" under the iTunes media directory.
