Hi there,

My iMac is dying horrible, lots of graphics corruption when anything used Quartz Extreme (basically everything then!), done the usual tests of blanking and reinstalling OSX, running the diagnostics, swearing at it ...

So now I need to find a service centre .. anyone recommend one that they've used and had a good experience ?  I live up Wellsford way but do work in Auckland so something in between would be good :-)

Thanks!

My friend Steve at DigitalFX is in Albany, and I believe is one of the most northern Apple Authorised Service Providers. He's been an AASP for many years and is a good guy.
Otherwise I have had excellent service in the past from Ubertec in Parnell. Both are mac specialists.

Cheers,
Joseph

Thanks for the pointers!

I ended up dropping it at Ubertec, Digital FX is nearer but they are out of the Apple service game now but he did recommend Ubertec to me over any of the other outfits on the shore.

Going to be about $600 for the replacment of a graphics card I think :-(  Still cheaper than a new machine though I suppose.

Feel free to "accidently" install a 2GB graphics board, a 1TB SSD and 32GB of RAM  ;-)
