Hello, I have a MacBook Air the latest one, and I am finding that the Internet drops on it? I use the assistant with it and it doesn't seem to help, and I know the Internet is still working because I am using my iPhone on the same network with no issues?
I am glad the internet is still working, I expect it would be reported on the TV or radio if it stopped.
How do your devices connect to the internet, what type of router, wireless access point etc. Have you tried restarting the wifi access point? Do you have many other wifi networks in your location?
I am going to assume you are using Wi-Fi and you machine is running Yosemite and fully patched with the latest updates . This is a long standing issue with MacBook and iMac, are you connecting at 5ghz? If so try setting the Wi-Fi to connect at 2.4ghz or vice versa if you are connecting at 2.4ghz.
Some routers are good as gold, such as my old TPLink W8960N, the 630b had issues, random disconnects, ages to reconnect, other iDevices are ok, and it wasn't the same devices that played up. I now use an Airport Extreme Base Station, wifi is now bliss. As sbiddle has mentioned many times, Apples wifi isn't 100% compliant. You should not have to seek routers that play well, but with Apple, you do. They are changing an underlying wifi piece of software in Yosemite, going back to the previous version, that will help a lot. Maybe my rMBP, once its booted in 12 seconds will go back to being internet ready after the 12 second boot, and not 10, 20 seconds later
