With Back to My Mac and iChat screen sharing, remote control options feature heavily on the Sparta List of Leopard features. Now, the remote control tool LogMeIn Free, in beta for the Mac since June, has reached release status.

With the free client you can initiate or accept remote control sessions, cross-platform (yes access your Mac from you Windows PC at work) and through most firewalls. It's great for family support or switcher hand-holding. The 5.5 MB client can be downloaded now, and you can use it once you register with LogMeIn (which is Free).

It is not extreamly fast but is definetly usable. For those of you who don't have a Macbook or Macbook Pro, which you can take to work with you and connect to the internet through your office connection and without being hassled by your boss for using your laptop, use this to access your home Mac directly from your Windows based office computer. Even if you do have a Mac, which you use for work, if you don't have a dotmac account you can't use back to my mac. Try this instead.

Cheers

And the best part is it's FREE. Unlike a 1 year subscription to dotmac which is 100 USD. I know you get more than just "Back to my Mac" with a dotmac account, don't get me wrong it can be usefull to have one of those too, but you just can't go past the fact that this free product "just works"
