I had been using Airmail 2 up until the point it decided to use up all my RAM and make my Mac mini crawl, so that's been deleted. I'm not a fan of Apple's mail client so am on the hunt for a new mail client. I'm temporarily using Outlook 2016 but that really dislike that as well so open to suggestions for a good OS X client.

I did really like Airmail except for the whole memory issue. Any recommendations?

Personally I don't use a "desktop" email client anymore. The web based options (gmail and outlook.com specifically but there are others) are just too good.

For a variety of reasons, mainly as I have 6 mailboxes to check, a client is nice. If it was one email address I wouldn't bother.

Giving Thunderbird a go now. It's OK but not super impressed, the UI is meh.

I'm a 9 year Apple vet, I have tried many email clients over the years, the best I have experienced is Outlook and second choice the native mail client. I generally now use browser based email on my iMac and Outlook on my Windows PC.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I really don't like outlook and it doesn't seem to play all that nicely with gmail / google apps accounts.

I use it at work, and it has excellent exchange integration but at home no thanks - it's not a cost issue as its park of my office 365 package, I just don't like it.

Are all your mails Google/Gmail based? If so, why not delegate them out to one (primary) account and use that primary account to switch account? I do that with 3 Gmails (1x Google Apps, and 2 Gmail accounts).

Mac mail sucks. Thunderbird may have a boring UI but it's easy to use and super effective.

Interestingly my experience has been the opposite Firebird buggy, uncooperative and generally an aged client, the updated Apple client in Yosemite is much better.
