Hi All

I went to order my imac CTO 2 weeks ago and now I have lost my patient but it has been 2 weeks (10business days) and I haven't heard anything from them after several emails. Also the shop says they will contact me since last friday, I still haven't heard anything from them.

Now I paid 1000 Dollars for the deposit and I want it back. So I can make an order through Apple Online stroe instead. So I will sue them what do you guys think ???

So if you have any suggestion on this matter please let me know. I am in Wellington

This isnt America, you cant sue them.

You can probably get your money back uner the consumer act.

Have you tried going and talking to them?

Yes I have tried, but they said I cannot get my deposit money back once the iMac is ordered. Since my imac is configuration to order.... But it is not fair by having to wait and haven't heard anything from them when they promised to keep in touch with me since last Friday...

So ok I cannot sue them but what can I do ???

Hi John

So ok if I wait until it turns up, but what if it turns up like 1 month later, there is nothing I can do?

Cheers

If that is not meet demand your $$ back

Yes they did say that it will take 10 days, but then I sent them email when it past 10 days, they said I cannot get refund as my iMac is an order to made... Since then I haven't heard anything from them...

I am curious to know what you would be suing them for, if in fact we were a country in which you could just sue anyone.

Do you have a written agreement with these guys that states a timeframe?

Hi I am sorry if I used the wrong word such as sue. My first language is not English so I am not sure what kinda of word I should use in this kind of situation.

I have her email indicating about the timeframe. but then she said I cannot get refund anyway but it is order to made unit.

At least should keep me inform about my iMac because it is not a cheap unit. It costs me tons (3000+ dollars) Cry

Another good reason to buy from Apple online store since it is now available... beside, you will get new updated products quicker... as shown with the recent updated MacBook and MacBook Pro, if you order online, you'll get the latest build and model, where if you get from retails, you'll get their stock order first... which is uncool when they all priced the same...

I agree with you, but I thought it would be similar to where I am from (Thailand), that when I buy it from the shop and if I found a problem with my item I can always go back there for a service.

I know that you can get your mac service everywhere, however if you need to change or replace a whole iMac due to any defect, I thought the shop can be more helpful with the item..

But it is not the case here, I just realise that the customer service is really bad, I thought they would have a good service because they are on the campus.

Well if you have bought it from retail, it is retail's responsibility to coordinate a service for you, either directly from retail, or retail's preferred service centre, or from manufacturer.

However, in this situation, if you have bought directly from Apple online store, your warranty is dealt directly with Apple. Another advice is, it is too worthwhile getting Apple Care pack for those pricey iMac, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro and Apple display. Don't really bother Apple Care pack for Mac Mini and Macbook, or ipods.

Another thing too: as the old saying goes "Hear it from the horse's mouth"... similar analogy can be applied here... "best dealt with people that made them"

Advise them, in writing, that if you don't receive a delivery within five working days then you will initiate action at the Disputes Tribunal to recover your deposit. If they don't comply then act out your threat.

Ensure that you keep copies of all receipts and correspondence as you will need it if you do end up going to the Disputes Tribunal.
