I just bought a 2.20GHz Macbook from DSE last Saturday. I love it to bits - great machine.

All of two or three days later, I see there are new Macs out:

I can pay $200 less for double ram, 33% more HDD, and a jump from 2.2GHz to 2.4GHz.

Even if the specs were not upgraded, I would go through the hassle of changing just for the $200!!

DSE has a 14 day right of return, but I would like to re-purchase the new one from them (Q Card gets me 3 months to pay with 0% interest).

So, does anyone know when the new lineup arrives at DSE?

With Apple been so secretive on anything chances are.... yes your guess as good as mine, unless you have some inside info.
Try to call Dick S. and see if you get any joy, or another Apple retaliler, assuming they will all get it at about the same time.
Apple shop, has 24 hours shipping time, so they must have them in stock, I don't know it for a fact, but I got the feeling DS
sells older models and help Apple get rid of old stock, Jus called in yesterday at the New Lynn shop and spoted an iMac "17 for
sale brand new at about $1399, and they are not current models, so they may act as a clearing outlet for Apple, I think they
do it for others as well,

Just my 2c worth..

Thanks Chaks - I feel a return coming on this weekend!!
Hopefully it wont be too long before DSE does get stock in the stores.

I checked apple.co.nz and everything there said they would ship the new macs within 24 hours.

Did you know... (at least in US, and I thought that) Apple do a "grace period" rebate for those who had bought products during the period that the products get updated.

I am actually quite glad that I held back the purchase as I felt that the products would get updated any time soon... Another rumour is, coming in June, MacBook and MacBook Pro will get a total overhaul yet again.

Check MacRumor Buying Guide for future Mac purchase.

Darrylb bought a Macbook online last Saturday. On Wednesday he got an email saying they are sending the new model, including the Apple Remote which does not come with the updated version anymore but was present in the old model he ordered.

from what i heard, the new range had already shipped to resellers prior to the update being announced, so it's likely it will be much faster to hit the store shelves than the Air was.  I had a mate who got one from apple online the other day and his confirmation email said shipping within 48 hrs.

The difference is that Darryl bought it online from Apple Online Store (is that right?) and Tony got his from DSE Retail. If that's the case, it is nice to get an email from Apple, informing him (Darryl) that he'll get the new model for the price range he paid for AND yet get free Apple Remote (as that's what he probably paid and expected from the old model).

Still wiser to get straight from Apple Online Store from the feel of all of this.

I can handle a June update :-) But 3 days before becoming 'old model' didnt float my boat.

Thanks everyone. I am going to ditch this bad boy Macbook on the weekend, and get the new model white one asap.
