Hey there.

I've just noticed some weird things happening in FF3 for the last day or so.  I can be browsing virtually any website, when suddenly what would usually appear as a popup ad will appear - upside down - at the bottom of my browser window.  If i scroll down far enough so that the ad disappears off screen, then scroll back, it does not return for another ten-twenty minutes or so.  It's very odd.  Bear in mind that these aren't strictly pop-up ads...they're the sort that appear with media in them (videos on stuff etc).  I've got a few extensions installed but i've taken them all off to test the issue and it still happens.  so i've put them back on.  screenshots are to follow but in the meantime does anyone know what might be happening here?

I'm not sure that some random upside down media ad or anything similar which randomly appears on any site is a good thing...

Does this appear in Safari?

Have you tried to remove and copy Firefox again? (and/or your complete profile?)

I haven't noticed this in Safari having used that for most of the afternoon.  i've removed FF3 and all its associated preferences/etc, and reinstalled.  I haven't noticed this since then.  Such a strange thing to have happened in the first place!

I have had no real issues with FF3 except for a regular crash when using the search engine within www.tv.com.  I've reported this to Mozilla though.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Get an app called AppZapper and drag Firefox.app into it. It completely removes any trace of Firefox from your system. From the looks of it, it may be extension-related.

I've had AppZapper for about a year, use it all the time and used it with FF3 last week.  Things seem fine now.
