Any GZ thoughts as to which is the better option?

The Pro has more ports, better architecture but worse paper specs than a hi spec "standard"iMac.

Principle use image and video editing. Min storage 1Tb SSD.

I'd wait until a refresh of the iMac Pro which should happen this year (or they may even announce the new headless Mac Pro which should be more upgradeable).

 

Personally I find the iMac 27" 5K is more than grunty enough for the Adobe CC suite (incl. AE and Premiere) if that's what you use. Especially when spec'd up to 64GB (and I see the newer 5K can handle 128GB RAM).
