Opened up my 13" MBP 2014 model one day to be greeted with an issue with ghosting and a transparent white bar out of no where. Unsure where the issue lies, whether it's graphics related or the screen assembly itself. The ghosting stays after the laptop has been rebooted.

I've opened up the laptop, reseated the display cable, cleaned the connector with some isopropyl alcohol, tried moving the position of the cable when the laptop is on and no luck..  Have also disconnected and reconnected the battery.

Stumped as to where to go from here.

The 13" Retina doesn't have a dedicated GPU like some 15" models so is less prone to that component dying. That, to me, looks completely in line with what we'd see when the LCD itself is damaged.

Ah yeah that’s true.

Damn. It was fine once when I used it, it sat in the same spot for 5 days untouched before I opened it again to find the screen like this.
