Looks like the new changes to Electronic Tickets and emails now cause issues for Apple Mail users.
Has anybody had any luck in accessing the attachments in Apple Mail. In the Message Viewer I see that there are 9 items attached to the message however when I open the email there are only 6 (images used within the message)
I have visited a 'webmail' client from my ISP and can see that the three attachments are application/octet
eg-----=_Part_36423_948844686.1222065412539
Content-Type: application/octet-stream;
name="E-Ticket booking ref MX5XXH.PDF"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="E-Ticket booking ref MX5XXH.PDF"

In the past year AIRNZ caused the same issue with the BoardingPass emails, but at least the invoice and eTicket PDF was accessible.
Interesting that when I spoke to AirNZ support last night I was advised that they could post or fax me the document, or they could try to email to a different address.  When I provided that address I was asked for one without an underscore as "we are having issues with underscores in email addresses, and also with Lotus Notes email too"
Concept of the appointment is great idea but fails in execution. (Only first leg, no timezone info and floating so is incorrect time when travelling, start time only not duration, Location would be useful)

I sympathise - sheesh the airlines and agents have to be working on some of the most mucked around with software ever !Antiquated and patched for years and years ...
That said, it is insanely complex - and I believe a massive overhaul of the entire international booking system is due to be rolled out later this year.New code + new gui to meet the requirements of today ... Doesn't help you at the mom - heck even if they could send through a screen cap .jpg would be better.But I don't think they can even do that ...

However I don't sympathise when they break something that was working.
Seat allocation for international flights is a nice plus!

Air NZ recently updated the design of its e-tickets, at the same time upgrading the system which generates the email and attached documents. The PDF and calendar appointment missing from the email when viewed in the Apple Mail client is a teething problem which is being actively closed down. We hope to have a fix in place later in the week.

I had a similar problem last week. I had to turn off spam filtering just to receive the email and even then neither Opera's mail client or my ISP's webmail client (Squirrel mail) would see any of the attachments.

I eventually copied over just the base64 for the PDF files one at a time to Windows and used the "base64" program to convert them into a binary PDF file.

And while we have an Air New Zealand employee around reading this discussion...

I've submitted feedback to Air NZ through their on-line form - and didn't even get a reply saying "we will look into it". And it's about not being happy with Premium check-in agents in Wellington.

How typical. As soon as I hit the REPLY button here I had an e-mail in my inbox with an invitation to attend a media brief next week, where Air New Zealand will be presenting mobile phone boarding passes, changes in their loyalty program, changes in check-in, etc...

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Wow, this has been fixed now. Just tried it today and both the pdf and the calendar attachment come through now.
Unfortunately the vcs file can't be imported into iCal, but I guess one can't get every wish fulfilled :)

I am in Auckland right now attending a press event where Air NZ is showing their new self service clusters.

Very interesting automated system. Solves the problems I had with check in agents not attaching the priority tags by printing a tag with Priority already on it. Also Silver, Gold will have special RFID tags to attach to wallet or mobile phone to speed up check in and boarding.

I willl upload pictures of the new strations soon.
