so the MacBook Pro has decided to not charge.

Can confirm that the cable and charger are charging as it will charge another device fine.

So  it has a 550 cycle countand it is saying battery condition is normal

It is running 10.15.6 Catalina.

We have tried all the UsbC ports and none of them seem to charge.

Have tried resetting the smc but unsure if I did this correctly or not

Any suggestion what I can try??

What is its current charge state?

Since a recent OS update I have noticed that mine frequently cycles between 90% and 100% while it is connected to the charger. This appears to be a feature designed to protect the battery.

Try again to reset SMC, the apple guide below gives the best method on how to do it. Yours is a Non T2 MBP. Worth resetting NVRAM too.

thank you.

Tried both.

Turned laptop off left it about 1.5-2hr and just reset NVRAM and powered up and the battery is sitting at 91%

so it seems it needs to sit awhile then it starts charging, but it doesn't show the charging indicator on the battery symbol.

Very weird

battery stats are this:

It charged over night to 100% wasn't hot, although the charging symbol never showed in the battery icon.

Seems it needs to sit a while then it will start to charge.

Surely this would be covered under CGA.
