at this rate when i buy this 3 years later 2nd hand it will be an upgrade from my intel 11 gen laptop :)
here's a plan :)
Watched that last night. I've never owned an Apple product and I'm not about to start now, but damn, that thing is a weapon.
Anyone got any idea how accurate current shipping times are? Looking at the MacBook pro 14, website saying 3-4 weeks? But then seeing retailers will have stock tuesday?
I have been waiting for these new MacBook Pros for ages and plan to buy one in the next week or two. Are there any thoughts on whether it is better to buy from Apple direct online or from a local retailer such as Noel Leeming. I am less concerned about availability and there is no urgency with my purchase, and am more thinking about how it would be making a warranty claim / claiming under the Consumer Guarantees Act, if something went wrong. While I have had good luck with all my previous Macs and never had a problem, I can't help but shake the feeling it might be easier to return a faulty machine to a retailer than have to courier it back to Apple. Any thoughts?

You're over thinking it. Apple is generally fine to deal with directly.
But as you say if you buy from Noel's you don't need to bother with shipping etc.

There are authorised apple service centres around NZ you can drop your machine into, though often there will be a wait on parts.
which is easier to get CGA?
Apple or Noel Leeming
Batman: Also if I just want to try it out and get the base 14“ is 512gb ssd enough?
I reckon only you know the answer to that one - what is your usage of your current computer, what do you fill up your hard drive with etc? Everybody's usage is different.
note: i am not an Apple fanboy i have 3 android phones and on my 12th Intel Windows computer but it's been long enough i think. i think the time has come ...

I went to Harvey Norman here in Napier last week and they were able to get me one in from another store - it arrived the next day. As of Monday last week, there were fewer than 10 x 16-inch MacBook Pros in the Harvey Norman network nationwide. I tried the local Noel Leeming but they said nothiog for a month. So try your local Harvey Norman and maybe you'll get lucky.
