Just an FYI:

I've been using Adium on 10.5 and suddenly found that my data was going thru the roof. Bit of investigation with a traffic analyser and it turned out to be the Facebook module for Adium that was chewing about 300kbps constantly. Guess it's probably constantly updating or something, but anyway I would reccommend staying away from it until it's fixed.

This is definitely the exception, not the rule, and probably the result of some loop of queries and replies which was not properly handled in the Facebook plugin. I'd love to see debug output (from a debug build - trac.adiumx.com/wiki/CurrentAdiumDebug) of this occurring, which might shed some more light on it.

I'm using Adium's Facebook chat on an MBP with Leopard too - can't say I've noticed any traffic spikes though. What version are you using? And what traffic analyser are you using?

That's the same setup as mine - will have to investigate it here too. I've googled around but couldn't seem to see any other reports on this, unless I've completely missed them...

I'm still on 1.3.2 at the moment, I've got the facebook plugin running, not sure why as no-one I know uses it, which may be why it's not doing anything unusual, bandwidth is sitting on 0kbps in out at the moment. I'd be more likely to blame Facebook, but that's just me :)

Having exactly the same issue with Adium 1.3.3rc1, have had it for a couple of times.
Logging off/logging bac on Facebook account helps, but that's quite annoying thing to monitor and do.
Quick search over Adium bug tracker (http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/BugReportsAndFeatureRequests ) returned no results, so I'll try to monitor issue a bit more time and will create a ticket there.
