So i have a new mac mini. 10.6.1 osx installed since release the other day.

Since yesterday however its decided that if i shutdown, it will shut down and then reboot. However if once rebooted i click shutdown again, it will then stay shut down.

I have not installed anything new apart from upgrading itunes 9 the other day. and i think firefox updated itself.

I have done some research on the net with the problem but all the postings i find are a few years old. and relate to older macs with memory issues.

my mac is only 3 months if that old.

The only thing i could thing i could thing of was wake on lan ( wake for administrator), however thats un-ticked.

I have bluetooth (not so) mighty mouse and the wireless keyboard.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Ideas,
System Prefs > Security > General > Disable infrared remote control infrared receiver. Other remotes can affect your Mac, not just the Apple remote if you have one.
The option to start up automatically after a power failure might be affecting shut down. (Under energy saver on the MBPro, Mini Mac may be different)
Many users had to reset some of their System and Application Preferences ie, turn off then on again, after installing Snow Kitty..

ok. so i reset the defaults, in the energy saving bit. then changed it to how i want it, and i paired my apple remote with it.
