I'd like to take my Macbook Pro to 8GB of RAM...

Apple wants NZD 2k for the pleasure, which seems steep :)

Can anyone suggest any more reasonable sources for this RAM? Kingston valueram for example is apparently working for people - anyone here got it going ok?

Thanks!

J

What version do you have?  Check the memory specifications and proceedure here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1270

If your model supports 2x 4GB modules then it's basically a 5min job to install the sticks.

4 Gb ram modules really haven't reached any sort of pricing sweet spot yet.

For example, on Ebay you are looking about $67 US for a 2GB module versus $315 for a 4Gb module for the MacBook.
