I have had my mac for about 1 month 2 months now and know little about them
sometimes makes alert noises...and it seems to be the one that i have set in my alerts (Sosumi) and if i change my alert sound it will beep to that one also
i don't know much about macbooks as this is my first one ever, but i do know... when it beeps i look in console and it says

..a.firefox[2443] Debugger () was called!

it says that everytime it beeps so maybe it has something to do with firefox please help!

but i do know i'm not pressing anything because sometimes it does it when i'm not even using my macbook PRO

thanks for your help!

Refresh/stop button is on the very right side in the address box in safari

If you have reinstalled OSX Firefox can't be causing the problems unless you reinstalled it.
What third party apps have you installed?

Open System Preferences from your Dock or under the Apple top left of the screen.
> Universal access > Keyboard > make sure that the sticky keys and slow keys are off.
> Sound > Sound effects > check that the ones you want are selected.
> Speech > Text To Speech > Check the settings.
> Date & Time > Clock > Check that announce the time is off.

Next check the Dashboard as some of the widgets can make a noise too...

If you can get a copy of David Pogue's Missing Manual for Leopard it's worth it's weight in gold.
If not, a copy of OSX Leopard for Dummies could help you get up to speed with your Mac..

Apple's support sites are great too

I'd suggest creating a new user account, does the issue persist?
