Hi

I recently upgraded to Snow leopard and ever since then I have had issues with printing on my laser printer.  It is a Brother MFC 9420. The Mac is 10.6.2

The issue is that the document that Im printing will sometimes print the top of the page and not the rest.  It may take several time before it does finally print the whole page and or document.  Frustrating and a waste of paper.

I have downloaded the latest drivers from the Apple website and the Brother website but to no avail.

Can anyone assist.

Regards

Martin

The issues I've been noticing recently with printers on Snow Leopard are usually associated to using Bonjour. But that only applies if you have a network-connected printer.

Open Console.app (inside Applications > Utilities) and look for the CUPS logs. The error_log should give you a message of what's happening.

I have a brother B&W HL2140 and 10.6 Broke the CUPS printer driver that Brother were using.

I gave up on the Apple one ( which did not appear to work) and just used the latest Brother one.

Buy a new cheap printer from warehouse stationery for $49 until the problem is solved? Use the printer at work?

I've just noticed that one of the items mentioned in the 10.6.3 update is:

- Improves printing reliability and compatibility with 3rd party printers

So perhaps a retry after 10.6.3?

There have been two dev
