Hi there,

I'm having trouble watching some DVDs on my MacBook, some will play fine (I use VLC to watch them) and others just make a whirring noise in the disk drive then get ejected without playing at all.

Is this a regional code issue? There are no error messages on my MacBook or anything and I tested all the disks in a regular DVD player and they seem to work fine.

If anyone has any ideas about this I'd love to hear them. Thanks for your help!

cheers

The symptoms you have sound similar to what I was experiencing. Try a DVD lens cleaner disk. I got one from Dick Smith and it fixed my drive.
