Ok - Have just spent about 7hours searching for - without sucess a webcam that will be compatible with a mac!! I know the good old isight is out there but it is very expensive. I am basically looking for a cheap and not too nasty webcam to use on my powerbook. Looking at spending <$80 (which rules out the few logitech that did do stuff). Hoping to spend around $40 - we have a nice webcam for a PC here which I can use when quality is a must. Have worked out that the Genius VideoCam Eye is compatible but can't find anywhere that sells them. (The only place that did has their website down until may!). Any suggestions?? Wanting to get one quite urgently. Thanks
I bought one of these about a year ago and, whilst it's nowhere near as good as the iSight, I found it to be good value considering that I use it very rarely.
Thanks for that. It is very expensive though for the specs - WE got a much better Creative Live Pro (But it is only for the PC) for about that and it does 640 by 480. Are all Mac compatible camereas that much more expensive!!
The problem is that there is an apparent lack of Mac compatible cameras on the market, so the few that do exist are sold at a premium. It's a real pity because, in theory, any cheap webcam would work on a Mac, if only suitable software were available!
