One of my folders in Apple Mail (10.5) is missing the grey forward & reply arrows on the left side of the mail folder, any way to restore the forward & reply arrow? Thanks

Right click on the top bar, you should get the following contextual menu;

Select 'Customize Menu'

Then just drag the desired icons on to the task bar

The reply & forward buttons in the taskbar are fine, it's the forward & reply arrow next to the attachement icon & emails that is missing.

Hi - I think you'll find that the forward & reply buttons are only in the task bar - not the actual email message, altho' if you have an email selected and click Reply, then it does give you an option to reply to all initial recipients.

No the OP is right, the reply/fwd icons do appear in the mailbox view next to the title of the email message. Along the columns at the top where you would see Subject, Sender, Date, etc there should be another column with a black dot in it....it contains "actions" that can be done in the mailbox window against the selected email.

When you press the reply or fwd button, it automatically locates the reply you sent to that email and displays it, or who/where you forwarded it.

As for putting it back if it's not there - can't help sorry :)

The column is called "Message Status". It shows whether individual messages have been replied, forwarded etc.
However there doesn't seem to be anyway to enable/disable this column!
I don't know how it could have disappeared.
You can always delete your mail prefs... this will reset the whole app to default settings, but wont delete your messages. You can test by moving ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist to your desktop, relaunch mail and see if the column comes back. If you then move the prefs back, your settings should come back as per (presumably missing the message status column, sorry).

Cheers,
Joseph.
